Ques1. Do I have to fill up the offline form also even if I’ve registered online on the DU portal?
Ans. No, you need not fill the offline form, if you’ve already submitted your pre-registration form & made payments online.
Ques2. Are there any disadvantages for gap year students?
Ans. No, there are no disadvantages if you’re a gap year student, all you require is your necessary documents.
Ques3. What is the procedure to apply in DU through the ECA or Sports quota?
Ans. Every DU College has separate forms for ECA and sports. If you want to get admitted through the sports quota, there is a centralized fitness test, which is conducted by the University Sports Council. The respective trials for ECA as well as Sports are to be carried out by the DU colleges.
Ques4. Is there be any relaxation granted to women candidates?
Ans. For women candidates, relaxation varies from college to college or even from course to course. Nevertheless, the upper limit has been fixed at 3%.
Ques5. Are the NCC/NSS cadets granted special seats?
Ans. No, the NCC/NSS cadets are not given any special quota in any of the DU colleges.
Ques6. I am confused about which subject to choose for my best four. I have studied both commerce and accounts in my class XII. Help!
Ans. You can add both these subjects in your best four.
Ques7. I have studied science in 12th. Can I apply for the B.A. (Hons.) in Arts/Humanities?
Ans. Yes, you can apply for the B.A. (Hons) in Arts/Humanities provided you meet the specific eligibility criterion and the requisite cut off.
Ques8. If I’ve already taken admission in a particular course, can I change my subject during the study or after completing the first year?
Ans. If you’ve already taken admission in a particular course, you can change the course only before the last date of admission, provided seats are available and you meet the requisite cut off.
Ques9. Can I opt an additional certificate language course with my regular graduation course?
Ans. Yes, you can go for certificate courses along with your regular graduation course as many DU colleges provide part-time certificate programs in office management, foreign languages, etc.
But however, it is advisable not to enroll yourself for any of these programs during the 1st year. In the first year try to understand how your regular course works and you can plan your certificate course accordingly.
Ques 10. Can I opt for Economics Hons or B. Com Hons, even if I did not have Mathematics in class 12th?
Ans. No. You can not opt for Economics Hons or B. Com Hons without mathematics.
Ques11. Is it necessary for a candidate to present physically on the day of admission?
Ans. Yes. You must be present on the day of admission in the particular college along with the required documents.
Ques12. Is it possible to take admissions in two different/same courses in different colleges after the declaration of a cutoff?
Ans. No, you can not take admission simultaneously in two different programs or same courses in different colleges. If you take admission at two places, your admission will be canceled from both the colleges as well as courses.
Ques13. Can I get admission in regular DU college if I’ve completed my class XII from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling)?
Ans. Yes, you can get admission in a regular DU College provided you have applied for that college and are meeting the requisite cutoff.
Ques14. Am I eligible to fill the OMR even if I have a compartment in class 12?
Ans. Yes. Even if you have got a compartment in class 12, you can fill OMR form. But the admissions are given only if you fulfill the minimum eligibility condition as well as meeting the cutoff list of that course/college during the stipulated period.
Ques15. Which DU UG courses have entrance examinations?
Ans. DU offers three courses of which selection is done on the basis of an entrance test. These are Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial and Investment Analysis (FIA) and Bachelor in Business Economics (BE). Apart from this, Indraprastha College for Women also offers entrance test for Bachelor of Multimedia and Mass Communication course.

Ques1. What is the process to avail hostels in DU Colleges?
Ans. Once you’re admitted in a course you’re interested in; you will have to separately apply for college hostels.
Ques2. Is it necessary to study Mathematics as a subject to apply for Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)?
Ans. Yes. Mathematics is a mandatory subject not only for BMS but also for those who want to study B. Com (Hons) or Economics (Hons).
Ques3. Can I edit my “Applicant’s details” if I’ve filled the form during the “New User Registration”?
Ans. No. Once you’ve filled the information, you won’t be able to change the information. Be careful in filling the information.
Ques4. Can I change my Centre of Entrance Examination after I’ve completed the online registration form?
Ans. No, you can choose any one of the six cities for appearing in the entrance examination via online registration. Once you’ve completed the entire online registration process, the chosen center will not be changed.
Ques5. When will I have the access to download the DU Admit Card?
Ans. Admit Card will be available in your individual accounts after 31st May 2016. You are advised to regularly visit the Undergraduate Admissions 2016 (Only Entrance Based) portal for updated news and other updates related to the admission procedure.
Ques6. Is there any other method to deposit fees such as demand draft, etc.?
Ans. No. The registration fee will be accepted only through the Online payment options available in the DU registration portal.
Ques7. Can I change my Photo/ID Proof/ Signature/DOB Certificate/Caste Certificate, if I’ve uploaded a wrong one?
Ans. No. Once the photograph, signature or requisite documents are uploaded, it can not be changed.
Ques8. How will I find out the location of my entrance exam center in the city that I have chosen?
Ans. All the information related to the center will be announced on the UG Admissions Portal 2016. The information will also be printed on your Admit Card.
Ques9. Is it possible that two candidates can apply from a similar account?
Ans. NO. Only a single candidate can apply from one account for UG Admissions 2016.
