General Information

The Australian Government administers an Overseas Student Program (OSP) that enables the Non-Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents to study in Australia.

If anyone wants to study under this program, they must acquire a student visa before they can commence a program of study in Australia.

The applicants are granted a student visa only if they wish to begin with a registered program or be a part of a registered course on a regular basis.

A registered course can be defined as an education or training course offered by the Australian educational universities or institutions, who is registered with the Australian Government to provide courses to international students.

Cost of the Application

Universities in Australia do not require any national or state-level application system for the aspiring international students. Therefore, the students have to apply directly to the University, usually online and often for a fee.

The Australian Universities have an average tuition fees for the international students hovering above the US$10,500 mark. It varies from university to university and course to course. For instance, a humanities student will pay a considerably less amount than a student studying medicine.

The application fee for an Australian Student Visa is currently AU$540.
